Presentation Mantras for Business Studies Exam

Presentation Mantras for Business Studies Exam

Business Studies is  a scoring subject, but you have to stress on presentation. How you present your answers in answer sheet makes a great difference in marks scored by you in exam. I am not denying the fact that content is important but if you write your answers creatively   , you have more chances of getting more marks.

It is based on fact that Human brain is divided in two halves –the left brain and right brain. Left brain works logically and analytically whereas Right brain works on creativity. Examiners   tend to give more marks to papers which are written correctly and creatively as more of right brain is regulated.

Try these tips for enhancing presentation in Business Studies Exam.

Ø  Try to write answers in points rather than writing long paragraphs
Ø  Even Explanation to points can be divide in to sub points
Ø  Underline important parts and headings of answers or use highlighter or black  pen(do it simultaneously while writing answers, you may not get time later)
Ø  Do write question number clearly and strictly tallying with the question paper.
Ø  Leave one line after every point in answer.
Ø  Diagrams can be drawn to make presentation better.

Do not fear exam

Exam has always been a scary word for most of the students. Actually it is not that scary if we handle it smartly. Here are some of the tips to tame Exam monster .

Tips for Exam preparation:

Make a schedule for your study: Scheduled study is always better than last minute study. You get more time to understand the fundamentals and also can study without any pressure. Scheduled study gives higher output.

Take short breaks: First read for an hour than go for a short break. In this breaking time you can talk to your family members about some interesting things. You can even watch TV for that break and watch only those program that you like most. It will give a new power and freshness in your mind.

Try to study in the morning time: Morning time is the best time to study as environment is calm and mind is fresh in the morning. It means you can grasp easily whatever you read. And don’t try to study for late night.

Make notes: Notes are your best friend during exams. They are handy. Books have tons of information which you may not need one day before exams. At that time, notes are your best friend. Always prepare good notes in your own language.

Revise regularly: There is no point of studying if you don’t remember it. Our memory fades away gradually. Without proper revision we will not be able to retain things in our mind. Revision plays a cardinal role in getting good marks.

Improve handwriting: Though it may sound funny but it really helps to get good marks. Your answer is waste if it is not understood by your teacher. Better handwriting ensures that your teacher is impressed with the answer. For essay type subjective answers, you can expect more marks if your handwriting is good.

Good language: Always use simple words to express yourself. Make sure that you are grammatically sound & write simple, grammatically correct English. Having a good vocabulary is of course an advantage.

Rely on professors/teachers notes: Most of the questions you get in the exam come from professor/teachers notes. Attend class regularly and take notes. These notes are helpful to get good marks.

Last year papers: Last year papers are good way to know the pattern of questions. Also many times questions are repeated from last year paper. Solve all the question of last year paper.

Avoid procrastination: Procrastination is your biggest enemy. Beware of  procrastination. Don’t delay your preparation. Today is the best date to start. Don’t wait

Tips for the Exam day:

  1. Make sure that you scan through your notes a day before exam.
  2. Never read a new topic on exam day.
  3. Be confident and relaxed.
  4. Sleep well the night before the exam.
  5. Arrive early at the test center with at least two forms of identification.
  6. Make sure that you have pen, pencil, eraser and other stationery required.
  7. Take a deep breath and concentrate for five minutes before exam starts
  8. Eat chocolate or drink glucose before exam as it increases energy level in your body and thus your mind works faster.
  9. If you need a quick drink of water or a visit to the restroom, take time before the exam, because once started the exam will not be paused for these needs
Trust your preparation and give your best.

Class 12 Business Studies (answers to NCERT questions)

Class 12 Business Studies
Ch-9 Business finance
Answers to NCERT Questions
Short ans type (Page 265)
Q7 Discuss about working capital affecting both liquidity as well as profitability of a business
Ans
Working capital is excess of current assets over current liabilities.
More  Investment in current assets helps in increasing the liquidity of business as compare to Fixed assets as these are converted in to cash  or cash equivalents  very quickly
Insufficient  Investment in current assets make it more difficult for organisation to meet its payment obligations(decreases Liquidity)
But current assets provide little or no returns  (they contribute less to profit)as compare to fixed assets
Conclusion: Balance need to be struck between liquidity and profitability as more working capital increases  liquidity  but  decreases profitability
Long Answer Questions
Q2 Capital Structure decision is essentially optimisation of risk-return relationship.Comment
Ans
Capital structure policy involves a trade-off between risk and return.
·         Using more debt raises the riskiness of the firms because payment of  interest and return of principal amount is obligatory for business. Any default in meeting these commitments may force business to go in to liquidation
·         But a higher propor-tion of debt generally leads to a higher expected rate of return for equity shareholders as EPS increases because of Tading on Equity
·          We know that if debt is increased beyond a point , the higher risk associated with greater debt tends to lower the share price .
Therefore, the optimal capital structure is the one that strikes a balance between risk and return to achieve our ultimate goal of maximizing the price of the equity shares(Wealth maximisation)

It will take just 37 seconds to read this and change your thinking.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.
One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs.
His bed was next to the room ' s only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.
The men talked for hours on end.
They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

?
Every afternoon, when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake.
Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats.. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite details, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine this picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon, the man by the window described a parade passing by.

Although the other man could not hear the band - he could see it in his mind ' s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days, weeks and months passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep..
She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.
He strained to slowly turn to look out the window besides the bed.

It faced a blank wall.
The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window..

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue:
There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.

Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.

If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can ' t buy.

"Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present ."
